Nine Covid-19 patients have died in the last 24 hours at KMC hospital allegedly due to lack of oxygen. However, the district administration claimed that there was no lack of oxygen cylinders.

Meerut: Nine Covid-19 patients have died in the last 24 hours at KMC hospital allegedly due to lack of oxygen. However, the district administration claimed that there was no lack of oxygen cylinders.

Meanwhile, Dr Sunil Gupta, Chairman of KMC Hospital, said that oxygen is deficient when compared to the requirement.

Sources said that 30 people have died in different hospitals, out of which 22 were confirmed Covid cases while eight were suspected of Covid-19.

Thirteen deaths were reported in Medical College while eight deaths in total were reported in hospitals like Anand, Nutima, Aryavarta and Apasnova.

Dr Sandeep Garg, Director of Nutima hospital said that instead of ensuring oxygen supply, the health department has been shifting patients from one hospital to another.

Sources said that hospitals have halted new admissions.
