Lucknow: National Investigation Agency (NIA) is probing the links of suspected terrorists Minhaj and Mushiruddin who were allegedly plotting serial blasts in parts of Uttar Pradesh ahead of Independence Day. According to NIA the two suspected terrorists were arrested from Kakori and are associated with Al-Qaeda.
In this direction, the probing agency is scanning the call records and the mails of the two men to trace their network. The NIA is scrutinizing 178 calls, seven of which were made in Pakistan and Nepal, and 16 emails made by Minhaj in the last seven days. NIA is also collecting the information of nearly 22 people who were having links with Minhaj after scanning the call history of his mobile phone.

According to the NIA, the call details and chats have revealed that these suspected terrorists were planning to blow up Aliganj's Bada Hanuman temple and Mankameshwar temple. "There is also a possibility of the links of these two men with the terrorist commander Umar-al-Mandi from Peshawar, Pakistan. The mobile phone recovered from Minhaj's possession, which he tried to set ablaze during the raid, has been sent to Hyderabad for forensic examination," an NIA official said.
