Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh): Setting an example of communal harmony, a Muslim family in Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi district performed the last rites of their Hindu employee as per Hindu customs.
The family says Morari was like a guardian to them Morari Lal had been working for the family of Tauhid Alamwa for the past eight years. Over the years, he had become an integral part of the family.
The family was in for a shock when Morari died suddenly due to a snake bite on June 13, while he was working in the garden.
"All the family members felt very attached to Morari. He was like a guardian for us and had become an integral part of the family," Tuahid said.
"Hence, we performed all his last rites as per Hindu customs. There is no bad blood between our communities. We are like brothers," he added.
The family also performed Morari's 'terhvi' - a ceremony held on the thirteenth day after a person's demise, where a feast is organised.
Around 1000 people from the Hindu and Muslim communities attended the ceremony.
