Mother and three children die as house collapses

A mother and her three children died after the roof of their house collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli. The mishap took place in the wee hours of Thursday.

The deceased are 36-year-old Afsana, her 14-year-old son Suhail, 12-year-old daughter Sania and 10-year-old son Iram.

Heavy rains pounding the district since Wednesday had led the house to collapse, leaving the mother and her three children buried under the debris.

Though the four were rushed to the district hospital, doctors declared all four dead.

Police have sent the bodies for postmortem.
