Gonda:A 24-year-old man, who had returned from Delhi with his wife on May 15 and was in home-isolation, committed suicide by hanging on Thursday. The incident took place in Bhamaura village in Umri Begumganj area.
According to the uncle of the deceased, the man was working as a daily wage labourer in a factory in Delhi. He had recently returned to the village with his wife.
"They are facing a shortage of food at the makeshift quarantine centre. On Thursday, the deceased had a heated argument over the issue of food. Later, he committed suicide," said the uncle of the deceased.
SHO Atul Chaturvedi said that the couple was living in a hut outside the village and the man hanged himself after an argument with his wife. The wife had gone out when the man hanged himself.
