Man shoots wife, later commits suicide in UP

An alcoholic man committed suicide after killing his wife with a licensed gun in Lalitpur district on Thursday.

Lalitpur:A man identified as Devendra Yadav (36) allegedly committed suicide on Thursday after killing his wife Kalyani Yadav with a licensed gun in Mahroni area of Lalitpur district in Uttar Pradesh.

According to UP police, Devendra was an alcoholic and had a fight with his wife before committing the crime.

"A man has committed suicide after murdering his wife in UP's Lalitpur district, we found that he was an alcoholic," superintendent of police captain MM Baig said.

The 13-year-old son of the deceased Devendra said that at night, the father came home drunk and had a fight with the mother who was cooking after which he shot the mother and later killed himself.

Police rushed into the spot soon after getting the information.

Further investigation into the crime is underway.
