Man rips open pregnant wife's womb to check sex of fetus

In a ghastly incident in Uttar Pradesh's Budaun, a man, upset over his wife not bearing him a male child, ripped open her womb, as he wanted to check the sex of his to-be born sixth child.

Budaun (Uttar Pradesh): In a shocking incident, a man from Uttar Pradesh's Budaun on Saturday ripped open his pregnant wife's womb to allegedly determine the sex of the to-be born child.

The incident took place under Budaun's Civil line police station limits.

According to the woman's family, the man, Panna Lal, was unhappy that he already had five daughters, and wanted his sixth child to be a boy.

To determine the sex of his sixth child, he ripped open his wife's womb, the woman's family alleged.

As soon as neighbours got to know about the incident, they rushed the woman to the district hospital. As the woman's condition was serious, she was referred to Bareli for treatment.

Meanwhile, the police have taken the accused man into custody.

The woman's family alleged that Panna Lal in the past had several arguments with his wife as he was upset over not getting a male child.
