Man killed, sister injured as bike catches fire

A 30-year-old man died while his sister was critically injured as they fell off the bike they were travelling, police said, adding that the duo was carrying a bundle of firecracker which caught fire soon after the accident.

Unnao: A man, who was carrying a bundle of firecrackers on his bike has died while his sister suffered serious burn injuries after the vehicle hit a speed-breaker and caught fire, official sources said.

Purwa Circle Officer Ramesh Kumar Pralayankar told ETV Bharat that the incident took place early morning on October 2 when the brother and sister were travelling by bike.

"They fell off the bike and the firecrackers caught fire after it hit the speed-breaker," he said, adding that the body of the man has been sent for postmortem while his critically injured sister Roshni has ben referred to the district hospital.

Further investigation is on, he said.
