Man beaten to death over love affair in Ballia

A young man, who was allegedly beaten by family members of a girl he was in love with, died while being taken to hospital, police said. They said three have been detained in this connection and further probe is on.

Ballia: A 22-year-old man was beaten to death allegedly by the family members of the girl he was in love with, police said.

Superintendent of Police Devendra Nath Dubey told ETV Bharat here that the man, identified as Rakesh, was beaten and his family was informed to take him away by the girl's family.

Rakesh was rushed to the local health centre in Gopalpur from where he was referred to the district hospital as his condition was critical, Dubey said.

Rakesh died while being taken to the district hospital, he said, adding that three people have been detained and are being interrogated in connection of the case.

Further investigation is on, the police official added.
