Narendra Giri death case: Disciples Anand Giri, Aadya Tiwari sent to 14 days judicial custody

Hyderabad: Mahant Narendra Giri's disciples Anand Giri and Aadya Tiwari have been sent to 14-day judicial custody by CJM Harendra Tiwari at Prayagraj Session Court on Wednesday.

They were taken into custody in connection with Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP) President Mahant Narendra Giri's death case.

Sandeep Tiwari, son of accused Aadya Tiwari, has also been arrested in connection with Mahant Narendra Giri's death case. His name was mentioned in the suicide note recovered from the death site.

Meanwhile, Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority has sealed the under-construction ashram of Anand Giri on Wednesday for allegedly building against the rules. Giri's ashram is situated in the Ghaziwali area of ​​Haridwar. Earlier in May also Development Authority had sealed the ashram with the same allegation.

Earlier in the day, Mahant Narendra Giri was laid to rest at his Math in Prayagraj with saint's rituals. According to his desire mentioned in the note, Narendra Giri was laid to rest under a lemon tree in the garden of Baghambri Gaddi. A square deep pit was dug near the tree to give him Samadhi.

Before giving him Bhoo-samadhi, a layer of salt, flowers, fragrant water was sprinkled in the square pit.

On this occasion, saints from Haridwar, Ayodhya and Varanasi also paid tribute to Mahant Narendra Giri in his samadhi.

Mahant Giri was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Baghambari Math on Monday. Police also recovered a suicide note in which the name of the seer's disciples, Anand Giri, and two others were mentioned. A charge of abetment to suicide has been lodged against them in the First Information Report (FIR) under Section 306.

Narendra Giri, the head of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, alleged harassment by the three in his note, which was shared by a senior government official on a media group with no comments.
