Moradabad: A widow of an army man, who died during the Kargil War in 1999, has toiled hard to realise her late husband's dream that one of their sons must join the Indian Army. This despite the fact that not even a single promise - granting a petrol pump to the family and a memorial for the martyred - was fulfilled by the government.
Sunita, the widow of Jai Ram who was a part of the Jat Regiment during the limited war of Kargil with Pakistan, not only raised their two sons single-handedly but built a memorial for her husband with her limited resources.
Ravindra, one of the two sons, was just a few years old when his father Jai Ram was martyred. Sunita's elder son is already serving in the Uttar Pradesh police.
