Justice will be done in Bikru village killings: IG Mohit Agarwal

Eight policemen, including DSP Devendra Mishra, were ambushed in Bikru village in Chaubeypur area of Kanpur when they were going to arrest gangster Vikas Dubey shortly after midnight on July 3.

Kanpur: Inspector General of Police (Kanpur range), Mohit Agarwal has said that the killers of the policemen, who were ambushed in Bikru village in Chaubeypur area of the city, will get maximum possible punishment by the court of law.

Speaking to the ETV Bharat here, he said there are lots of statements and proofs that would nail them.

"We will ensure justice," he said, adding that the affected families of the policemen would get justice in the case.

"I assure them that justice will be done and guilty will be punished according to the law of the land," he added.

Eight policemen, including DSP Devendra Mishra, were ambushed in Bikru village in Chaubeypur area of Kanpur when they were going to arrest gangster Vikas Dubey shortly after midnight on July 3.

Dubey was killed in an encounter in the morning of July 10 when a police vehicle carrying him from Ujjain to Kanpur met with an accident and he tried to escape from the spot in Bhauti area. Prior to Dubey's encounter, five of his alleged associates were killed in separate encounters.
