JNMC to conduct last-stage trials for Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 vaccine

Tariq Mansoor, Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, informed that the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has provided the university with scientists, technical and non-technical staffers for the tests.

Aligarh: Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 vaccine, which is in its last-stage trials, to be tested on one thousand people from the city in Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU here, official sources said.

They said the university has already made the required arrangements and volunteers could register themselves on November 10 from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm at the old OPD Block of the college.

Tariq Mansoor, Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University, told ETV Bharat that the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has provided the university with scientists, technical and non-technical staffers for the tests.

He said that people should come forward to participate in the exercise as it's being done to save lives and to remove the coronavirus pandemic from the face of the earth.

Meanwhile, a government scientist was quoted as saying saying that the Bharat Biotech’s Covid-19 vaccine would be available by February next with studies so far showing it as safe and effective.
