ITBF jawan martyred at Siachen

An Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBF) jawan was martyred at Siachen border due to heavy snowfall. Bhati was admitted to ITBP in 2007. He was later cremated with full state honours.

Greater Noida: Vinod Bhati, an Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBF) jawan hailing from Chithera of UP, was martyred at Siachen border during a routine patrolling operation.

Bhati (32), who used to reside at the local Gautam Buddha Nagar, was admitted to ITBP in 2007 and was killed due to heavy snowfall at the border. He was posted to Siachen few days ago.

A pall of gloom descended on Bhati's native village as the family and residents mourned the loss of their loved one.

Bhati was later cremated with full state honours.
