Int'l wrestler found dead at BJP leader's residence

A 26-year-old international wrestler, Resham Singh was found hanging from ceiling in BJP worker Ruksana Naqvi'sresidence.According to police, he had gone to the party worker Naqvi's residence, along with his friend Varis Gazi, for BJP membership.

Lucknow:Body of a 26-year-old international wrestler was found hanging from the ceiling in BJP worker's residence here on Sunday. Police suspect something fishy and are thoroughly probing the matter.

The deceased has been identified as Resham Singh.According to police, he had gone to the party worker Ruksana Naqvi's residence, along with his friend Varis Gazi, for BJP membership.

It was later found that he had lost all the necessary documents related to the same. He lodged a complaint in connection with the matter.It is being told that Singh's friend was unwell due to which they stayed back at the media in-charge Naqvi's residence.

In the morning, she knocked on the door for several minutes with no response. Subsequently, she broke the door and found him hanging from the ceiling.

The investigation revealed that Singh, a resident of Hardoi, was a national level wrestling player and was honoured with a gold medal by state CM Yogi Adityanath.

After receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot and informed the family about the incident. The team inspected the location and sent the body for autopsy.Police have deemed the death to be suspicious.

However, the cause is yet to be ascertained.
