Prayagraj: Amidst ongoing Lok Sabha polls specially challenged voters and students have alleged that candidates make many promises before the polls and often tend to forget them once the elections are over.
They alleged that, though state government has called them as specially challenged rather that physically handicapped, the government has not done much to provide better services to them.
Specially-abled voters put forth their demands These students claim that they are still struggling to get good education and employment.
They further alleged that special coaches for them in trains used to be very helpful while travelling, but now there are no such coaches.
They demand that the tricycles provided to them from the government should not include many formalities and should be handed over to them at the earliest possible.
"Direct entry in recruitment examinations should be allowed for the students who are totally disabled," they added further.
National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC) department used to provide a fund of Rs 3000 for professional courses, but the students now allege that this facility is scraped out by the ruling government
Apart from this, there are many other issues, including pension, housing, etc which are also in the list of their demands.
