Noida: Four alleged members of a gang involved in over five dozen cases of street crimes in Delhi-NCR were held after a gunfight with the police in Noida on Monday, officials said.
One of them was injured in the exchange of fire that took place near the Radisson Hotel in Sector 57 that falls under the Sector 58 police station, while the other three were held during a combing operation, they said.
Noida's Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranvijay Singh said the four arrested men are "key members" of the infamous Durgesh Gang of Delhi, which has 60 to 70 cases lodged against them in the National Capital Region.

"Our teams have been constantly working on preventing street crimes like snatching. As part of the drive, a police team in the morning identified a motorcycle whose number was in our list of vehicles involved in suspicious activities," Singh said.
"The police team chased this motorcycle which had two riders, leading to a gunfight between the two sides. One accused got hit on his leg during the retaliatory firing by the police and was held," he added.
