Bareilly: The first Shramik Special train carrying 300 migrant workers and their family members left for West Bengal from Bareilly on Friday.

The Shramik Special heading to Bardhaman in West Bengal left Bareilly Junction at 3:02 pm on Friday with 300 migrants.

Before boarding the train, all migrant workers underwent thermal screening.

The Shramik Special train arrived at Bareilly Junction at 2:40 pm from Moradabad.

The migrants were asked to reach the railway station two hours earlier so that all formalities could be completed.

After this, they were provided with food packets, water bottles etc.

Though the authorities had completed the proceedings to ferry the migrant workers much earlier, the process hit a blockade after the destination states did not respond in a time-bound manner.
