FIR against doctor for cheating girls, families on marriage pretext

A complaint has been registered against a man who cheated several girls and their families on the pretext of marriage. Uttar Pradesh police are probing the case after getting the complaint against one Rajesh Kumar of Sultanpur.

Sultanpur: An FIR has been registered against a doctor, who cheated girls and their families on the pretext of marriage, and later run away, official sources said.

In an incident in the area under Devsara police station, one Rajesh Kumar, with a degree Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine, and Surgery (BAMS), fixed marriage with a girl from Maheshpur but did not reach the marriage venue on the day.

The family waited for him till late night hours with all arrangements in place for the marriage but he didn't turn up.

The girl's family reported the matter to the police and an FIR was lodged against the accused.

It has also been learnt that the accused tried the same trick with other girls also. The matter is being probed, the police said.
