Family conflict leads to hunger strike in Sitapur

Four members of a family have been sitting for a hunger strike before the courtyard at Khairabad in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district. While the daughter-in-law named Kanak has alleged that her in-laws had forced her for abortion and tortured her for dowery, the mother-in-law named Rani alleged that her son and daughter-in-law are tormenting them and their daughter.

Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh): Four members of a family have been sitting for a hunger strike against each-other before the courtyard with the demand for justice against domestic torture and unlawful activities at Khairabad in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district.

The duel between a daughter-in-law named Kanak and the mother-in-law named Rani has crossed its limit which led them to sit on a dharna.

On one hand, Kanak and her husband Ishant alleged that the later's parents had forced Kanak for abortion and also tortured her by the name of dowery.

Kanak further raised allegation against Khairabad police for their inaction towards the charges she had made against her mother-in-law.

Therefore she had no choice except to stage a dharna before the courtyard with her baby.

On the other hand, Kanak's mother-in-law Rani staged a dharna along with her husband with the demand of justice against her son and daughter-in-law's spurious allegations which disturbs them emotionally.

However, she also voiced allegations against her son and daughter-in-law of domestic violence and torture to them as well as their daughter who is in Lucknow.

Meanwhile, Yogendra Singh the Circle Officer has told that this family feud has been going on for a long time.

Even the matter was earlier heard by the Police Counseling Center to no avail.

The son and daughter-in-law are refusing to stay out of the house but the parents asked them to leave as soon as possible, Singh said.

In this regard, Singh said that action will be taken accordingly.
