Noida (Uttar Pradesh): At a time when the world is grappling with the coronavirus crisis, cyber-attacks for extortion have also increased.
The latest victim is none other than a senior police officer of Noida, Rajesh Kumar Singh.
The cyber thugs tried to extort money by creating a fake Facebook account in the name of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajesh Kumar Singh.
Singh told media, "Yes, some unknown people made a fake Facebook account on my name. The racket was exposed when cybercriminals tried to extort money from people."
He also said, "I could not believe that some people can create a fake FB account on my name and extort money. The cybercriminals had taken the photo from my real Facebook account."
Singh further said that he came to know about it when some people told him, "Why do you need money. You should have told us directly, why through Facebook?"
