Exclusive: Three BJP MLAs were in touch with gangster, says Vikas Dubey's financier

In an exclusive conversation with ETV Bharat, Jai Bajpai, allegedly the financier of gangster Vikas Dubey said that three MLAs of the Bhartiya Janata Party were working for the gangster Vikas Dubey. However, Bajpai did not disclose the name of any of the legislatures.

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh):Kanpur businessman Jai Bajpai, allegedly the financier of gangster Vikas Dubey has said that three MLAs of the Bhartiya Janata Party were in close contact with Dubey adding that the legislators belong to Kanpur and Unnao. However, Bajpai did not disclose the names of any of the legislators.

The statement has been given by financier Jai Bajpai to ETV Bharat while going to jail on Monday.

He was arrested late on Sunday night along with his associate Guddu for providing ammunition that was used in the Bikru village encounter that left eight policemen dead on July 3.

"Almost all MPs, MLAs of BJP and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) including the Cabinet Ministers were in close contact with the gangster Dubey. As the police could not nab the ministers, they arrested me", said Bajpai to ETV Bharat here.

When asked about his connection with a luxury vehicle, which was found abandoned by the Kanpur police, he said, "I had parked my car near Vijay Nagar area in order to evade any help to the gangster. I have submitted the CCTV footage of the area to the police by myself. I don't know why they (police) are indulging me in the false case. Whatever I knew, I have already told the police."

"I have five flats which have been owned by my five brothers. I have an electronic shop which is my sole source of income. I have some luxury vehicles and a licensed pistol which I was submitted to the police. However, I have a fascination with foreign countries. That is the main reason behind my foreign trips to Thailand. I had visited Thailand five times to celebrate Holi.

Meanwhile, Bajpai's wife Sweta Bajpai said that her husband is innocent and has been dragged in the false case in order to save some of the politicians and police officers. However, following her husband's legacy, she also denied revealing the names of any of the politicians.

Earlier today, a man named Amit Dubey, who is believed to be a close associate of the wanted criminal, has been found in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura. According to police, the vehicle belonged to Amit Dubey who was found lying near the road, blindfolded with his hand-tied at the back. On getting information police reached the spot and took Amit into custody.

Gangster Vikas Dubey was killed in an encounter on July 10 after a police vehicle carrying him from Ujjain to Kanpur met with an accident and he tried to escape from the spot in Bhauti area.

Earlier, five members of Dubey gang were killed in separate encounters.

While on July 3, two of his associates, Prem Prakash Pandey and Atul Dubey, were killed by police in an encounter in Kanpur, on July 8 the police killed another aide, Amar Dubey, who carried a reward of Rs 50,000, in Maudaha village in Hamirpur district.

On July 9, two more aides of gangster Vikas Dubey, wanted in connection with the Kanpur ambush, were killed in separate encounters in Kanpur and Etawah districts.

Eight policemen, including DSP Devendra Mishra, were ambushed in Bikru village in Chaubeypur area of Kanpur when they were going to arrest Dubey and fell to bullets fired from rooftops shortly after midnight on July 3.
