Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh): The remains found in the premises of the Ramjanmabhoomi in Ayodhya have been described by Acharya Satyendra, the chief priest of Ramlalla, as remnants of the ancient Ram temple. He said the remnants in the form of pillars, plaque, and other relics are proof that the site is indeed Lord Ram's birth place.
Situated 30 metres east of the birthplace of Lord Ram, is a place that looks like a mound. An inscription is installed at this site with a black colored pillar. The Ram temple trust has decided not to shift the pillar and the plaque from here.
The plaque located near the pillar was reportedly established by the Edward Teerth Vivechani Sabha to measure the perimeter of the Ayodhya shrine. The inscription and column was also mentioned in the decision given by the Supreme Court on the Ayodhya dispute.
Just 30 metres away from the pillar is the birthplace of Lord Ram, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the Bhoomi Pujan ritual on August 5. In view of the importance of the pillars and the inscription, the surrounding land has been levelled, but the pillar and plaque have been kept intact.
