Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh): The farmers of Mandola village in Loni, Ghaziabad, will not bury themselves alive on September 14. ETV Bharat first reported the news on its network and later, the administration swung into action. On Thursday, Additional District Magistrate Ritu Suhas met the farmers and assured all help.
By issuing a press release late in the evening, the administration said that decision by the farmers to sacrifice their lives has been postponed. The administration has also assured that their demands are being considered and the government has also been informed.

The farmers were protesting against the Loni Mandola Vihar Awas Vikas Yojana in Ghaziabad. They were demanding compensation for their land. The farmers had given the administration time till September 14 to resolve their issues. They had warned the district administration that they would bury themselves alive, if their demands were not met.
