Drunk man torches house as family slept inside

A drunk man in Uttar Pradesh set his house on fire after his wife refused to open the doors. Several members of his family were injured in the incident.

Kanpur: In a horrifying incident, a drunken man set ablaze his house in Kanpur injuring his wife and family members.

The incident happened in the wee hours of Friday.

The drunk man was agitated over his wife's refusal to open the door at 4 am and he resorted to committing the heinous crime, said Deepak Buker, Superindentent of Police.

A child was rescued and six of others were taken to Ursala Hospital in Kanpur and they are undergoing medical treatment.

A case has been registered in Juhi police station.
