District administration in UP razes MLA's hotel

The Ghazipur district administration demolished a hotel belonging to MLA Mukhtar Ansari after the District Magistrate dismissed an appeal by the hotel owners yesterday.

Ghazipur (Uttar Pradesh): The Ghazipur district administration demolished a hotel belonging to MLA Mukhtar Ansari. The District Magistrate of Ghazipur dismissed the appeal of hotel owners, Mukhtar's wife and sons Abbas and Omar Ansari yesterday.

Sub-divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sadar Prabhas Kumar had issued the demolition notice on October 8. After the notice was issued, the hotel owners had approached the high court. However, the high court directed the petitioners to appeal before the District Magistrate.

The Board of Controlling Authorities, headed by the District Magistrate, stated in its order that both the appeals of the appellant were quashed. The Board accepted SDM Sadar's demolition order.

SDM Sadar Prabhash Kumar, SDM Ramesh Maurya, SP City Gopinath Soni, CO Ojaswi Chawla, Tehsildar Mukesh Singh and PAC and police were present during the demolition.
