Gorakhpur: A video of BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur is becoming increasingly viral. In the video, a patient can be seen carried to the Covid ward on his brother's shoulders since there was no stretcher available. The patient has been identified as Rambadan, suspected to be COVID19 infected, died on his brother's shoulder later.
The principal of BRD Medical College said about this case that an attempt is being made to discredit the hospital, stretchers are not available on the road but in the hospital wards.

According to the information received, Rambadan Chauhan, a resident of Bhathat, lived in Mumbai and used to do paint polish work. In the last 3-days, he had reached his home in Bhathat. Suddenly, his health worsened at home and he started having breathing trouble.
The family suspected Corona infection and took him to the local community health centre. The doctors advised the family to shift the patient to Gorakhpur's BRD Medical College.

However, when they reached the hospital, they were stopped outside under the CM protocol and family members were instructed to take the patient to the ward on foot. The family members requested a stretcher but there was none available. Later, the younger brother Vishnu carried Rambadan to the ward, but the patient died on his shoulders.
