Noida (Uttar Pradesh): In a shocking development, Noida SSP Vaibhav Krishna has said that a 'morphed video', purportedly showing him, was being circulated as part of a deep-rooted conspiracy.

Krishna said he had exposed white collar crimes and cases of extortion

During a hurriedly-called late evening press conference, he told mediapersons, "The obscene video which has been morphed showing me is part of a deep-rooted conspiracy (against me)."

Krishna said the morphed video, in which a girl could be heard talking, has gone viral on social media. There were three morphed videos in all.

Krishna said he had exposed white collar crimes and cases of extortion. "I have sent a report to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath related to big issues relating to corruption."

He said he had lodged an FIR in this connection in Sector 20, Noida. "The investigation of the FIR, on the instructions of the IG, will be done by the police of some other district," he said.

During the investigation, the source of the video and how it got shared will be assessed and necessary action taken.

"A request has also been made to the Inspector General of Meerut Range that the matter be probed by some other district police in a free and fair manner so that the culprits can be brought to book," he said.

Earlier this week, the district administration had announced booking 128 members of three criminal gangs under the stringent UP Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986 and initiated proceedings to attach their properties, in a bid to choke their fundings.

The decision was taken on the basis of a report prepared by the Noida police and the accused included kingpins of gangs involved in contact killing, extortion and various contracts relating to private businesses in Gautam Buddh Nagar.
