Carved stones to be taken to Ram temple site

The carved stones for Ram Temple to be moved to the temple site. The grand temple, which would come up in 12,879 sq metre area on the Ram Janmabhoomi campus, should stand for over 1,000 years, therefore only the stones will be used to build it.

Ayodhya: With the construction work of Ram Temple gaining momentum here, the carved stones, which are lying at the karsevak puram workshop for years, are to be taken to the site carefully as they are huge and very heavy.

Country’s leading construction company, Larsen and Toubro, which is not charging any fee for the construction of the Ram Temple, has been making arrangements to transport the stones to the construction site.

Anubhai Sompura, the main supervisor who has been looking after the carving of stones for the past three decades at the workshop, told ETV Bharat that big trucks and cranes would do the work.

On being asked which route would they take to transport the stones, he said the bypass road should be taken as the heavy stones cannot be transported through crowded roads.

The proposed Ram Temple will be 360 feet long, 235 feet wide and 161 feet high and will have five domes.

On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court had ruled in favour of the temple ending decades-old Ayodhya title dispute.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the temple during the groundbreaking bhoomi pujan of the mandir in Ayodhya on August five.
