Transportation of carved stones to Ram Janambhoomi site commences

An employee of the country’s leading construction company, Larsen and Toubro, which is not charging any fee for the construction of the Ram Temple, said that the work of taking the carved stones has started.

Ayodhya: The work of taking the carved stones to the Ram Janambhoomi site for construction of the much-awaited Ram Temple has started with engineers and workers carefully carrying out the task.

An employee of the country’s leading construction company, Larsen and Toubro, which is not charging any fee for the construction of the Ram Temple, told ETV Bharat here that the work of taking the carved stones has started.

"We have got the directions to take the stones carefully to the construction site," he said, adding that all possible precautions would be taken to ensure that the carved stones reach the site without any problem.

He said special techniques would be used to carry out the work.

The stones, which are lying at the karsevak Puram workshop for years, are to be taken to the site carefully as they are huge and very heavy.

The grand temple, which would come up in 12,879 sq metre area on the Ram Janmabhoomi campus, should stand for over 1,000 years, therefore only the stones will be used to build it.

The proposed Ram Temple will be 360 feet long, 235 feet wide and 161 feet high and will have five domes.

On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court had ruled in favour of the temple ending decades-old Ayodhya title dispute.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the temple during the groundbreaking bhoomi pujan of the mandir in Ayodhya on August 5.
