Muzaffarnagar boy slapping: Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka blame BJP for spreading 'hatred'

Condemning the Muzaffarnagar school boy slapping, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their shock. They accused the BJP of sowing the poison of discrimination in the minds of innocent children and building walls of hatred.

Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh): Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi came down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the wake of the Muzaffarnagar incident in which a viral video surfaced showing a school teacher purportedly asking class 2 students to slap a boy from a minority community. The teacher was also accused of passing objectionable remarks against the community.

The teacher was being accused of instigating the students of the private school to beat their victim. The incident allegedly took place in Khubbapur village under Mansurpur police station limits. However, in the preliminary probe, the police found that the student was beaten up for not completing his class work properly, the officials said. The matter regarding alleged objectionable remarks made by the teacher was being investigated. The identities of the people in the video were also yet to be confirmed.

In a sharp reaction to the incident, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on X, formerly Twitter: "Sowing the poison of discrimination in the minds of innocent children, turning a holy place like a school into a market place of hatred - there is nothing worse a teacher can do for the country." "This is the same kerosene spread by the BJP which has set every corner of India on fire. Children are the future of India - do not hate them, we all have to together teach love," he added.

On her part, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said that hate is the biggest enemy of progress, adding that there is talk of technology to go to the moon and there are things that build a boundary wall of hatred.
