Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): After the arrangement of a separate room for offering Namaz in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, such demand has started rising in UP as well. Irfan Solanki, the SP MLA of Sisamau in Kanpur, has also demanded a place in the UP Assembly to offer Namaz. He says that during the proceedings of the House, Muslim MLAs have to go to the mosque to offer Namaz. He said that if there is a place in the assembly to offer Namaz, then the proceedings of the Muslim MLAs will not be missed and no one will be harmed by it.

At the same time, on this demand of Irfan Solanki, MLA of Govind Nagar Assembly Surendra Maithani said that Irfan Solanki has been elected MLA many times. His father has also been an MLA several times. Since then they have never demanded a place to offer Namaz and when the assembly session is not even going on, they are demanding room to offer Namaz. This is just a political manoeuvre and nothing more.
