New Delhi: BJP taking a dig at Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi's "Ganga Yatra" on a boat in Uttar Pradesh on Monday said that she must get rid off the corruption within her party and home after campaigning on the river which is known for its purity and holiness.
Addressing a press conference, BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said, "Priyanka is today able to enjoy the 'Ganga Yatra' only because the BJP has worked sincerely to purify the holy river from the lies and corruption that had polluted the river since long".
Terming the entry of the 47-year-old Priyanka Gandhi into politics as a failure of the party, Trivedi said the opposition party cannot look beyond family for its leadership. "The Congress has only brought Priyanka to the politics to save Rahul Gandhi and to save the 'sinking Congress'," he said.
On Priyanka's campaigning on a boat, he said Priyanka is sailing on a "directionless boat" which nobody knows how far will it go.
He said "..people are traveling on a boat... a directionless boat carrying a party without any support base led by unwise leadership and doing politics without values, one can easily imagine how far such a boat can go. Wherever this boat will find ashore it will be enough for it."
