Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): Rahul Tiwari, the man, whose FIR against gangster Vikas Dubey prompted the police to conduct a raid at Bikru village early on July 3 and was missing for 14 days has been traced by the Uttar Pradesh police, said Additional Director General of Police (Law and order), Prashant Kumar.

Subsequently, the raid led to an ambush in which Dubey and his men killed eight police personnel, including deputy superintendent of police Devendra Mishra.

Rahul Tiwari, besides being a complainant, is a key witness to the case related to events that led to the ambush, the police said.

On June 30, Rahul had filed a complaint against Vikas Dubey at Chaubeypur police station over some property issue after which Vikas Dubey had summoned Rahul and up publicly beaten him.

Pertinent to mention, Vikas Dubey and his accomplices shot dead eight police personnel in Bikru village under Chaubeypur police on the intervening night of July 2 and 3. The police team had gone to Vikas Dubey's house to arrest him on the basis of FIR lodged by Rahul Tiwari.
