Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): A man in Lucknow has been arrested for not being able to pay compensation for damaging public property during the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests across the state held across the nation in December 2019.
A notice was issued to the accused earlier to make up for the damages done during the anti-CAA protests which amounted for Rs 21,760,00. The accused was, however, unable to pay the amount following which he was arrested by the police. He was arrested for not being able to compensate for the losses which will be the first arrest in this connection.

Sardar Tehsildar Shambhu Saran said that RC was issued against the accused Mohammad Kalim son Shamsuddin from the court of Additional District Magistrate (Trans Gomti ) Vishwa Bhushan Mishra.
