Muslim devotee offers Jalabhishek to Shiva Linga in UP temple

A Muslim person worshiped Lord Shiva and performed Jalabhishek in the Shiva temple in UP's Saharanpur. Musharraf Ali Pundir asserted he had an unfailing adoration for Lord Bholenath.

Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh): A Muslim man performed the 'Jalabhishek' of the Shiva Linga and worshiped it at the Shiva temple of Deoband in Uttar Pradesh. Its video is being shared widely on social media. The man performing Jalabhishek is identified as Rao Musharraf Ali Pundir who is the district convener of the Muslim National Forum. While performing Jalabhishek, Pundir prayed and wished for the blessings of Lord Shiva to be on all of humanity.

Pundir says that he 'adores' Lord Bholenath and has faith in him, and he also wishes to go to Banaras and perform Jalabhishek on 'Gyanvapi Shivling'. "I have performed Jalabhishek while carrying forward the traditions of our ancestors," he says. While some are highly appreciating the gesture, some are criticizing it, saying it is against Islam.
