Lalitpur (Uttar Pradesh): A 65-yr-old Dalit man was allegedly thrashed and forced to drink urine in Uttar Pradesh's Lalitpur district.
Amar, a resident of Roda village, alleged that a man named Sonu Yadav forced him to drink urine. When he refused, the man attacked him with a lathi, Amar said.
One accused has so far been arrested in the case Amar said that around a week back, the accused Sonu Yadav had attacked his son with an axe, following which the family had filed a police complaint against him.
However, the accused had been forcing the old man and his son to settle on a compromise and withdraw the police complaint.
Lalitpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Mirza Manzar Baig said that a few influential persons physically assaulted two men in Roda village. As soon as the police received information, an FIR was filed and the main accused was arrested, he said.
The SP added that the hunt is on for the remaining accused in the case.
