Suspect arrested after rape of 5-year-old in UP

A suspect was arrested in Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh after a 5-year-old girl was raped in Sandila, according to police.

Hardoi (Uttar Pradesh): A man was arrested for allegedly raping a five-year-old girl in Sandila of Hardoi district, the Uttar Pradesh Police informed on Saturday.

According to Anurag Vats, Superintendent of Police, the girl was allegedly raped by the brother of her tuition teacher when she had gone to his residence to attend regular classes.

The victim has been sent for medical examination and police will file an FIR in the case.

"The child has been sent for medical examination and the accused has been taken into police custody. An FIR will be registered. Evidence of the crime will also be collected," Vats said.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is facing flak amid rising crimes in Uttar Pradesh, with the opposition claiming that the criminals enjoy political patronage and protection in the state.

Earlier in Pilibhit, a minor girl, who had gone out to answer nature's call, was taken inside a sugarcane field and raped.

In another incident, a man allegedly raped his four-year-old daughter while his wife was away for some work in Hardoi of Uttar Pradesh.
