28-year-old raped in Etawah

A minor girl, who witnessed her mother being dragged inside the fields, ran away and informed the people at home, who then came rushing to the spot only to find that the woman was lying unconscious.

Etawah: A 28-year-old woman, who had gone to fields with her five-year-old daughter on Wednesday evening, was raped by a man, sources said.

The incident took place in a village under Jaswant Nagar police station area.

They said that the minor girl, who witnessed her mother being dragged inside the fields, ran away and informed people at home, who then came running to the spot only to find that the woman was lying unconscious.

An ambulance was called in and the victim was rushed to the hospital.

SSP Akash Tomar constituted two teams of the police personnel to nab the accused. Police were able to catch the man, identified as Anil, after a few hours of the incident.

Further probe is on, the police said.
