The government said it will ensure its proper upbringing.
A 21-day old baby girl was found abandoned in a wooden box floating in the Ganga river in Ghazipur district. A boatman, Gullu, on hearing cries of the infant coming from the box, pulled it over only to find her locked up inside. The box had images of Goddess Durga and Lord Vishnu. The baby's birth chart was found tied around her waist. From the horoscope, it was identified that she was named Ganga.
