New Delhi: The minor girl, who was the victim of sexual assault in Delhi's Paschim Vihar and was admitted to AIIMS, has been shifted to the neurosurgery intensive care unit (ICU), AIIMS sources said on Friday.
The victim is on a ventilator and at present her blood platelet count is low. She may undergo neurosurgery when the count improves, sources said.
"The 12-year-old girl admitted to AIIMS after alleged sexual assault in Paschim Vihar is in a critical state and has been shifted to the neurosurgery ICU. She's on a ventilator and her platelet count is low. She may undergo neurosurgery after platelet count improves," AIIMS sources said.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that doctors are trying their best to save the 12-year-old girl. Kejriwal also requested people to pray for the child.
"I spoke on the phone to the doctors and parents of the 12-year-old girl, who was sexually assaulted. I had visited her in the hospital yesterday. She is still fighting for her life. Doctors are trying their best. Please pray for her. In the meanwhile, police has arrested one person," Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.
A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the case. The man, identified as Krishna, also tried to kill the girl. Delhi Police managed to arrest the accused within 48 hours of the crime.
"On Tuesday, a 12-year-old child was assaulted. A case under POCSO Act was registered. We had immediately formed more than 20 teams under the supervision of DCP Outer Delhi," Joint CP, Western Range, Shalini Singh said.
