New Delhi: A day after the Congress and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) came to a pre-poll understanding, the Left party leaders claimed that they have good prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In an exclusive interview with ETV Bharat, CPM Politburo member and senior party leader Nilotpal Basu on Monday, remarked that the Congress vote share in the last assembly elections in Tripura had declined to a mere two percent from 44 percent in the last Assembly election.
Left confident of bagging more seats in Kerala, WB "Our candidate Shankar Prasad Durga was attacked by BJP goons yesterday...we will take the government to task and hold them accountable," Basu added.
The CPM leader challenged the pre-poll survey report and said that the party would do better in both the states i.e., Kerala as well as West Bengal.
Referring to West Bengal pre-poll survey report, Basu said, "It will be a close fight in West Bengal and he hinted of a tacit understanding between BJP and Trinamool Congress."

In the 2014 general election, United Democratic Front (UDF) bagged 12 seats and Left Democratic Front (LDF) got 8 seats in Kerala. The Left Front got both the seats in Tripura. Out of the total 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal, All India Trinamool Congress bagged 34 seats, Left Front and BJP bagged 2 seats each. The Congress also received 4 seats.
