A couple in Sangareddy district came up with the idea of sending eco-friendly wedding invitations for their daughter.  Once soaked in water the pieces of the card can be planted and then sprouts basil plants.

Recycling becomes an issue when things are unfit for reuse.

For instance, wedding invitations sent to relatives usually ends up in the dustbin.

With the decorative plastic covers, it adds to the waste in the environment. Many people switched to online network to avoid the task of mailing the hardcopies.

But the charm of the tradition is lost over the online network.

So how about an eco-friendly card made of basil seed paper? Yes! A couple in Sangareddy district found this unique solution to preserve both the tradition and environment. Once soaked in water the pieces of the card can be planted and then sprouts basil plants.

Vijay Bhaskar Reddy and Aruna decided to send these cards for her daughter's wedding. Both of them are an ardent nature lovers.

They came up with the idea to contribute their bit to the environment.

It isn't the first time the couple has taken an eco-friendly initiative. They have inculcated a sustainable attitude and every other thing at their home is inspired by the idea of a greener tomorrow.

They use solar energy for electricity. They have also adopted rainwater harvesting to conserve water.

The lifestyle of this Reddy couple is an inspiration to many.
