WATCH: Father, son die after consuming poisoned birthday cake in T'gana

Father-son duo died after eating birthday cake on Thursday. The incident took place in Ainapur area of Telangana's Siddipet district. Police suspected that the cake was alleged poisoned. A case has been registered in this regard. Further investigation is underway.

Ainapur: In a tragic incident, two of a family died after eating contaminated cake here in Komuravelli Mandal of Telangana's Siddipet district on Thursday.

The deceased were identified as 39-year-old Ravi (father) and 9-year-old Ramcharan (son), police said.

The incident took place when Ravi along with his wife, son, and daughter was celebrating his birthday.

Ravi cut the cake sent by his brother on his birthday. The whole family consumed the cake. Later, Ravi and his son died on the spot while her wife and daughter were rushed to the Nilofer hospital.

Doctors stated that the condition of Ravi's daughter to be critical.

Police suspected that the cake was having poison mixed in it.

A case has been registered in this regard. Further investigation is underway.
