Hyderabad: Tollywood film director Puri Jagannadh appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Tollywood drugs case. The ED interrogated him on the money laundering issues in connection with the drugs case.
The central agency will probe into 12 people from the film industry and notices were issued to them under the Money Laundering Act. The inquiry commencing on August 31 will continue till September 22. Actress Charmi is scheduled to appear on September 2, actress Rakul Preet Singh on September 6, Rana Daggubati on September 8, Ravi Teja, Srinivas on September 9, Navdeep along with F-Club manager on September 13, Mumath Khan on September 15, actor Tanish on September 17 and Tarun on September 22.

The ED authorities have already gathered information regarding the drugs case. The Special Investigation Team officers who investigated the drugs case will also be questioned by the ED. After an inquiry of total of 62 people, the Excise Department claimed that eight African nationals were the accused. Even though 12 people from the film industry were interrogated by the SIT, their names were not enlisted in the indictment. The case was registered in 2017.
Jagannadh worked along with Amitabh Bachchan in the 'Budhha Hoga Tera Baap' movie in 2011. Currently, he is working on Vijay Deverajonda and Ananya Panday's Liger. The film is produced by Charmme Kaur along with Karan Johar, as per reports.
