Telangana: Teacher attempts suicide alleging harassment by headmaster

A woman teacher attempted suicide on Monday after allegedly being harassed by the headmaster of her school. Later, the teacher hailing from Nalgonda district of Telangana was admitted to a hospital where the doctor claimed that the teacher is out of danger.

Nalgonda (Telangana):A woman teacher of Deverakonda Government School allegedly attempted suicide on Monday in front of Mandal Educational Officer office, after being harassed by the Principal of her school.

The teacher poured Kerosene oil on her body and as she was trying to immolate herself, some of the school staff saw the teacher and saved her. She was taken to a hospital nearby and the doctor attending her claimed that the teacher is out of danger.

The teacher is identified as Rambai (27), hailing from Nalgonda district of Telangana, alleged that the headmaster of the school has been harassing her mentally over certain issues. She further requested officials to take necessary actions against the headmaster.

Meanwhile, the police have taken the statement of the teacher and a probe is underway in the case.
