Telangana school principal loses job, forced to run food cart

Maragani Rambabu, who was employed as a principal at a private school in Telangana, lost his job during the COVID-19 lockdown. In order to provide for his family, he now runs a food cart along with his wife.

Khammam:The principal of a private school, who lost his job during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, now runs a 'thela' selling idli, vada and dosa in the Khammam district of Telangana.

Maragani Rambabu, had no other choice but to resort to selling food to ensure he could provide for his family.

Rambabu, who was employed as a principal at a private school, now runs a food cart serving hot breakfast along with his wife.

Speaking to a news agency, Rambabu said, "I used to be a principal, but after the lockdown was announced, the school management decided that they do not require my services till the school reopens."

"I did not have any other source of income to feed my family. So my wife and I decided to start the thela. We now sell idli, vada and dosa for breakfast," he added.

However, Rambabu said that he is not the only one bogged down by the circumstances, as many like him have now been rendered jobless due to the adverse effect of the coronavirus induced lockdown.

"There are many people unemployed like me, I urge the government to help them in this time of crisis," he said.
