Hyderabad:A Central ‘B’ (Biopharma) Hub is proposed to be set up soon which is going to be a new hub for the development of StartUps dealing with Bio-Pharmacy, and to promote initiatives for research in biology, pharmaceutical products, innovation and manufacturing in the country, similar to that of the ‘T’-Hub and ‘WE’ Hubs set up to promote IT start-ups and Women Entrepreneurs in the state.
The state government has decided to set it up in collaboration with the Central Biotechnology department, in public and private partnership. This is the first time in the country that a specialized centre is being set up for StartUps in the field of biomedicine. This Centre is being planned to be spread over an area of 2.7 acres between the villages, Kolthur and Lalgadimalakpet in Genome Valley of the Shamirpet Mandal of Rangareddy district at a cost of Rs 60.37 crores.
The government has invited bids from leading companies on the strategy of BOT where the companies shall design, Build (B), Operate (O) and Transfer (T) basis.
