Hyderabad: Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been winning the hearts of many by his kind gesture and spontaneous help to the needy and poor amid the coronavirus-induced lockdown.
He has portrayed negative characters in many of his movies, but this gentleman in his forties has been helping migrant labourers and the poor ever since lockdown was imposed.
He helped the stranded migrant labourers get back to their homes by arranging transport facilities. Apart from providing food, he recently donated a tractor to a farmer in Andhra Pradesh, following a viral video in which a farmer was seen using his daughters for ploughing as he could not afford to rent oxen.
He initially began his work alone and now more and more people are joining his team. His team has been continuously scanning the calls, emails, posts of the needy people and promptly responding to them.
Talking exclusively to ETV Bharat, Sonu Sood said it is the prayers of thousands of people that inspire him to work harder each day to serve them.

He said he never thought that his father's helping mentality will be imbibed in him to such an extend amid the crisis.
"Unfortunately, some section of the people is giving a political angle to my work but I just request such people to join me in the kind work that I do," he added.
Reportedly, he is in the process of developing an application which will help poor people get jobs based on their skills with the help and support of many corporates and NGOs. The development work of the app is expected to be completed within a week.
