According to reports, the toddlers were given wrong medication after being administered the pentavalent vaccine by the hospital staff.

The toddlers were then rushed to the city's Niloufer Hospital, where one infant was declared brought dead, and the others are currently undergoing treatment.

An official said that the 15 children admitted to the Nilofer Hospital are currently in a stable condition.

The official said that although reports suggest that the parents were given tramadol instead of the painkiller paracetamol to be administered to the infants in case they develop a fever, the exact reason for the error would be known only after an investigation.

According to reports, the error by the hospital staff was due to the similar packaging of both the medicines.
